Husky Herald
University of Washington Newspaper Cover Art
I worked as the Cover Artist for the Husky Herald during my junior year at UW. It was a super fun time working on the student media team, and I gained valuable experience with the design, review, and deadline process. Every month I created a new artwork, starting with concept sketches, meeting with the Editor in Chief for feedback, and finishing the design in time for the quick deadlines.
My favorite design was the Snoopy / Peanuts inspired February edition. The husky is the official mascot of UW, and the crow has become an unofficial mascot since UW Bothell resides on a lively wetland that the crows call home. It was fun to draw those two as Snoopy and Woodstock when Snoopy was trending, and the newspaper cover gained a lot of attention at the school.
